Hi Brightwood:
The Public Safety Walk that took place today in Brightwood on GA Ave between Tuckerman and Aspen Streets was attended and organized by MDP Officer Hamrick and James Lewis of CM Lewis George's office. My fellow 4A Commissioner Patience Singleton, Brightwood Community Association President Merlene Horan, and 5 residents from 4B in Takoma joined me. The main topics of discussion centered around a crime that occurs at gas stations on Ga Ave and in Takoma, DC, gun laws, businesses with and without crime cameras, and the rate of criminals that are arrested and then soon released.
If you were not able to attend today's walk, please join Officer Hamrick tomorrow, October 6th, as he kicks off MPD's Faith in Blue events. 4D's Outreach Team will combine Bon(D) Fire Friday with this event. It will start at 3 p.m. on the 4th District Field located behind 4D at 6001 Georgia Ave.
