Hi Brightwood:
It is with sadness that I share with you that our long-term neighbor, Mr. James McAdams, passed away at the age of 74 in his home on the 1300 block of
Sheridan Street on June 23, 2024. Known as "The Coach," Mr. McAdams could be seen on his daily walks in Brightwood and throughout DC, always smiling
and saying hello to all who passed him as he powered through his purposeful walks. Mr. McAdams was loved and respected throughout DC as a basketball
coach at Maret High School, where he served and mentored students for 31 years. He then went on to host the popular radio show In and Out of Sports, which
featured local sports guests and personalities. Please keep Mr. McAdams in your thoughts. He will be greatly missed on Sheridan Street and throughout DC.
